What is the time of the udhiyah and which defects prevent it from sufficing?
Short answer
The time of slaughtering the udhiyah begins on the Day of Sacrifice and extends into the days after it according to the detail in the fatwa, and an udhiyah with the clear defects mentioned in the hadith does not suffice.
Evidence and explanation
The Shaykh mentioned the time of slaughter, cited the hadith of the four defects that do not suffice in sacrifices, and mentioned that the ruling applies to the hadi and the 'aqiqah regarding the soundness of the animal from the preventing defects.

English translation (unreviewed): They ask about the udhiyah: when is takbir said over the animal slaughtered at Eid? And when is it slaughtered? Is it valid for it to remain for a week, or is it slaughtered directly on that day, or how is it? And what are the conditions of the animal, as some are lame, one-eyed, or old in age? What about that? Advise us about these topics, may Allah reward you.
- From the text of the answer
English translation (unreviewed): The sunnah at slaughter is to say: Bismillah, Allahu akbar, whether it is a sacrifice or for eating, 'Bismillah, Allahu akbar', at all times; the slaughterer says at slaughter: 'Bismillah, Allahu akbar' when he moves his hand to slaughter; this is the sunnah. As for the udhiyah, it is slaughtered over four days: the day of Eid, the Day of Sacrifice, and the three days after it, four; all four according to the correct view of the scholars are days of slaughter: the day of Eid and the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth until sunset; all these four days are days of slaughter.
- Evidence as the shaykh cited it
English translation (unreviewed): There is a fifth type, which is the 'adba', whose horn or ear is mostly gone; the correct view is that it does not suffice, because it is established from the Prophet ﷺ that he forbade sacrificing the 'adba', which is the one whose horn or ear is mostly gone, or the whole horn and the whole ear are gone. This is the fifth. And Allah is the Granter of success. Yes.
