Humility in prayer

Humility is not a passing feeling, but the fruit of knowing Allah, preparing for the prayer and understanding what is said in it.

01

Before the prayer

Prepare your heart

  • Hasten to the prayer at the beginning of its time.
  • Close the sources of distraction.
  • Remember that you stand before Allah.
  • Learn the meanings of al-Fatihah and the adhkar.
02

During the prayer

Be unhurried and understand

Recite calmly, be at rest in bowing and prostration, and do not move on until your body settles. The more you understand the dhikr, the closer is presence of heart.

03

After the prayer

Review and do not despair

If your heart wanders, bring it back without despair. Humility increases with learning and striving, and the Muslim does not wait for its perfection before performing the prayer.
